Tip of the Day

Moving on from all that Ivy

A trend that began sometime in the nineties for some unknown reason was to drape your home with as much ivy as possible. If you could possibly make your home look like your ivy trellised exterior, you had succeeded in Design. We had our ivy coming off our kitchen cupboards, on every bookshelf and nightstand and on any open ledge you could find. Thankfully we have moved on. Eliminating all plantlife and greenery would be a mistake, but there are a lot of plants that can add that fresh feeling to your home. We love to use orchids and little julip jars with a pot of rosemary or basil in the kitchen. Using plants and flowers will complete your space, for there is just something inviting about bringing the outside in.

  1. I couldn't agree with you more! It is so important to link the inside with the out and we can do this with cut or dried flowers/ twigs, etc. that can link to the plants we visually see out of doors through our glass windows. Nice post.
